Daniel Jung, born in Remscheid in 1981, lives in Cologne. His passion for education began early: After graduating from high school in 2001, he studied mathematics and physical education, while also founding a local tutoring company and a tennis school. For over 20 years, he has been combining teaching, pedagogy, and innovation—with a clear focus on digital learning and teaching.
In 2011, he launched his YouTube channel “Mathe by Daniel Jung,” which became a milestone: Over 3,000 concise explanatory videos have helped an entire generation learn math online. With more than 1 million subscribers and over 400 million views, he has helped millions of high school students, college students, and professionals overcome their fear of math and understand complex concepts. His “Nugget Learning” method—short, easy-to-understand units—revolutionized access to education and made learning location-independent and personalized.
His expertise in digital learning and teaching is evident in numerous projects: In 2012, he launched his own learning portal, and in 2015, he co-founded StudyHelp GmbH to develop innovative workbooks and digital resources. In 2018, he launched mathefragen.de, a community for collaborative problem-solving. This was followed in 2020 by the founding of Daniel Jung Media GmbH, which focuses on consulting, content, and partnerships. Since 2021, he has been hosting the podcast “Daniel Jung lädt ein,” in which he discusses topics with experts from the fields of education, politics, and business.
As a pioneer in the field of AI in education, he led a research study in 2022 on adaptive learning methods and investigated how AI personalizes learning paths. He is a member of the University Council at Tomorrow University (2023) and INU – Innovative University (2024), where he is responsible for pedagogy and digital concepts. In 2025, he was named an Honorary Senator of INU. His work promotes educational equity and the democratization of knowledge through technology.
Daniel Jung is the key to success for companies and their professional development initiatives: In a world where lifelong learning is essential, he offers strategies for how digital platforms, social media, and AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Grok) can optimize skills development. He combines personalized support with scalable tools to prepare employees for the new world of work—in an accessible, motivating, and efficient way. That’s why he’s booked as a keynote speaker: His presentations provide practical insights, inspire innovation, and demonstrate how companies can design forward-looking training programs. Daniel Jung Inside: Impressions from My Eventful Educational Journey.
While my projects are primarily focused on fighting for educational equity in Germany, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that every child in this country is provided with a basic education. There are countries where learning to read, write, and do arithmetic is by no means a given. Since I care not only about education in Germany but also about equitable education for every child in the world, I have decided to donate a portion of the proceeds to Young Bafana, a nonprofit NGO based in Cape Town. Since 2010, Young Bafana has been supporting disadvantaged children and youth from the local townships in and around South Africa’s capital through holistic soccer and educational programs. True to the motto, “Education first, soccer second,” Young Bafana focuses on providing a basic education and instilling essential social values, while off the classroom, it teaches lessons in team spirit, perseverance, and the joy of sports.
